the scalloped lock at Aldermaston Wharf

Friday, 17th August 2007 - 10.05bst, Bath Library, computer 16
Hello kind reader,
W8Aug07-09.50bst,Newbury library,cmpr26
I took the train from Paddington to Reading, and walked to the M4 along the Kennet navigation. The Kennet navigation was built in 1718, by John Hore, to let the Thames barges carry goods to Newbury. There were three wharves, Reading, Newbury and Aldermaston. At Aldermaston is I believe, the only scalloped lock in the whole of Britain (see attached photo)

I walked today, from a little west of Pewsey, along the canal. There was a clear dark night, the new moon being on Saturday. I don't think I have seen the Hyades round Aldebaran, Taurus the bull, so clearly before. Some dark clouds in the west blew in around dawn, and it is now overcast. I took the chance to call in on the church at Bishops Cannings. The first vicar is dated 1290, so I think it must be Early English/Classic Gothic style. It looks good, a grey parish church with west tower and steeple.

Near Thatcham, I was in a bit of woodland, when a wren came checking what was going on. He made a whirring noise, unlike the usual loud song, which I think was a warning song. He hopped to and fro round me, within a few yards, for about five minutes before he left. I think he may have had a nest nearby, though I could not see one.
The fourth quarter moon was bright enough to throw shadows, last Monday 6th. Is this because it is nearest to the earth in August? The last day I saw the moon was the Friday before the Saturday new moon, after dawn.
I heard a screeching which I thought was some noisy rabbits. Then a screeching owl flew right ahead of me, for about two seconds, before carrying on into a nearby wood. Is this perhaps a barn owl - it did not sound like a tawny owl - towit-towoo.

Bath is the most beautiful city in Britain(?) and a World Heritage Site. The Abbey is great, built from Bath stone. Bath stone is limestone that can be cut in any direction and is loved by sculptors, it seems. Bath stone is everywhere. The Roman baths are beside the abbey, and look as though they date to Beau Nash's time - 1730?, from the outside. I got lost in the maze of streets around the centre, this morning, but it is only second day!
Best wishes to all, Robert

I jis' hadn't th' heart t' put th' critters in it as long as http://startso11.info/piratbay.html th' ole one stood up.. The knowledge of dream symbols will only help us in understanding portions of the dream content, and does not render the use of the technical rules previously http://storyah44.info/boksery.html given at all superfluous.. Consequently there are two kinds of unconscious, which we do not http://startso11.info/www.koszatnizka.lunar.com.pl.html as yet find distinguished by the psychologists.. My watch informed me http://wowyesaf.info/renault+megane+szyber+dach.html that it was half-past seven; and, of course, having slept two hours, I was too late for my appointment.. It has a blend of humor and pathos that puts it on a plane of http://startso11.info/fiddler.html universal appeal.. The young man, being for the moment at leisure, surveyed http://startso11.info/Wyszukaj+WWW.OKE.KRAKOW.PL.html critically the gaunt figure, the faded bandanna, the antique clawhammer coat, and the battered stove-pipe hat, with a gradually relaxing countenance.. This voting power of Dennis was particularly valuable at the quarterly meetings of the Proprietors of the http://startso11.info/www.e-bay.com.html Naguadavick Ferry.. These dreams http://rebestal.info/rface.html are ever sufficiently mysterious by reason of the choice of persons who are made the objects of sex, the removal of all the barriers which cry halt to the dreamer's sexual needs in his waking state, the many strange reminders as to details of what are called perversions.. It was not all a matter of managerial http://startso11.info/antyvir.com.pl%2Fskaner+antywir.com.pl%2Fskaner.html imagination: Gideon was less himself.. The young lady, he continued, blandly, enjoys the further distinction http://startso11.info/www.podatek+liniowy.html of being the object of such attention from you as would make this interview-- really--a confidential matter--er--er--among friends and--er--er-- relations in present and future.. GIDEON By Wells Hastings (1878- ) [From The Century Magazine , April, 1914; copyright, 1914, by The http://startso11.info/www.witchklub.html Century Co.. Finding these demonstrations unavailing, and convinced http://startso11.info/www.grazinka56%40wp.pl.html that some urgent cause for hurry had suddenly invaded the elder's serenity, as it had his own, he began to cover the ground with frantic leaps that would have surprised his owner could he have realized what was going on.. What woman's heart http://startso11.info/krak%C3%B3w+zakopane.html ever failed to soften at sight of a new bonnet? As I have stated, the elder was a man of action.. She could readily believe him, she had assured him, and had then left him in http://startso11.info/www24opole.pl.html scorn.. I hardly know whether http://startso11.info/.bravosport.pl.html to be grateful to my grandfather for the spectacles; and yet when I remember that it is to them I owe the pleasant image of him which I cherish, I seem to myself sadly ungrateful.. When they were recalled after http://startso11.info/www.knor.pl.html awakening they were regarded as either the friendly or hostile manifestation of some higher powers, demoniacal and Divine.. Here Major Talbot's delicate but showy science was reproduced to a hair's breadth--from his dainty handling of http://storyah44.info/piwoharna%C5%9B.Pl.html the fragrant weed--the one-thousandth part of a grain too much pressure, gentlemen, and you extract the bitterness, instead of the aroma, of this heaven-bestowed plant--to his solicitous selection of the oaten straws...
